Eight in ten buyers of cloud services perform Proof of Concept trials before they buy. This is an opportunity for suppliers and cloud specialists to add value because buyers seek help with these trials and their subsequent purchases.

  • The majority (78%) of those who have adopted Cloud services perform proof of concept trials before committing to buy.
  • Most use Cloud provider (56%) or other third party (25%) assistance when migrating their services to Cloud.
  • Final decision-making falls to the Head of IT/CIO in almost six in ten (59%) respondents’ organisations when choosing to move to the Cloud, but the CFO, MD and/or Head of Security are all likely to be involved.
  • The complexity of migration was difficult for 38% of respondents as was data sovereignty (30%) and the dependency on performant Internet access.
